We believe in building people who will carry the message of the Gospel everywhere they go! Our mission is to make disciples who are deeply rooted in Jesus through the Word of God and who know Him intimately. We believe that when you know Jesus intimately, you overflow with abundant love towards Him and towards everyone around you! The only way to walk in this Christ-like love is to be focused on eternity and what will last far beyond this earthly moment. We warmly welcome you to join us whether you are a committed follower of Christ or have no religious background. Evergreen is a place where you will find "soul care" and open arms!

OUR VISION
BE-DO-TEACH
In order to fulfill our mission of making deeply rooted disciples who are abundant in love and eternally focused, we follow the vision of being, doing, and teaching! Our aim is to infuse our value pairs above into every part of the Be-Do-Teach growth cycle. We all start out "being a disciple" of Jesus and learning simply how to be His follower (Principles of Christianity & Spiritual Disciplines of prayer, study, meditation, fasting, etc. - "Celebration of Discipline" Richard Foster). As we grow in grace as His disciple, we begin to do His works which are the actions of Christianity. We put our faith into action through discovering and developing our spiritual gifts, both the gifts of the Father (Rom. 12:6-8), and the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:4-11). Finally, as we are coming into further maturity in Christ we teach (equip) His people through the deployment of the five-fold ministry which are the gifts of the Son (Eph. 4:11-13). Our goal is to see this vision come to fruition through the power of the Holy Spirit and the approach of making disciples in a method that is "small batch, handcrafted" with personalized attention for each person.

DANIELLE & DANIEL "STEWY" STEWART
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Danielle and Daniel moved to Tallahassee in October of 2019 to plant Evergreen Church! Danielle serves as lead pastor of Evergreen, and Daniel as executive pastor where they function as a pastoral team. Together they planted a campus ministry in Nashville that continues today.Danielle received her BA in Intercultural Studies (Missions) in 2006, and Daniel his BS in Electrical Engineering in 2008. They are both credentialed ministers in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and have a passion for seeing people come home to Jesus.
OUR CHURCH AFFILIATION
Evergreen Church is affiliated with the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) denomination that was founded in the late nineteenth century and is full gospel. For more information on our history and beliefs, click the Church of God Info button below.
WHY THE NAME "EVERGREEN"?
Evergreens were a symbol for the early church of everlasting life, and our life in Christ should be vibrant and living in every season of life just as the evergreen tree stays green all year. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says:
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit."
