Wait on the Lord!

Over the last few weeks we have made our way through several messages having to do with living in prophetic power. We saw how the lives of Elijah, Elisha, Jonah and of course the life of Jesus give us the template of being believers who passionately listen for the voice of God and obey the voice of God. We have been invited into this prophetic journey with Jesus once again!

Another theme that emerged clearly through September and now going into October is the directive to "Wait on the Lord!". One of the messages from September dealt very specifically with waiting on the Lord through the 27th Psalm. David says in Psalm 27:14: "Wait on the Lord ; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!". So often, our answer to the burning questions in our hearts, and the longings in our prayer life are exactly this verse where we must wait on the Lord, be of good courage (encourage yourself in the LORD y'all!!!), let Him strengthen our hearts and reaffirm once again, YES!!! I will wait on the Lord! Strength comes when we wait, new perspective comes when we wait, weariness lifts when we wait! Why would weariness lift? If you are waiting the right way on the LORD then you will run and not get weary and walk and not faint, you will mount up with wings as eagles (Isaiah 40:28-31) because He is operating through you, ministering to you, strengthening you!!

Evergreen Church is waiting on the LORD! What exactly are we waiting for? A move of God where His glory cloud comes and rests on us, where people can be caught up in Jesus and endued with power like the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2). We are waiting on His Shekinah Glory and as we wait, we acknowledge that the Lord Jesus already lives in our hearts through His Spirit and we abide in Him (John 15) but can I tell you that it is absolutely okay and wonderful to desire His Presence even more in our lives at church, at home, wherever we go? Do not let anyone try to intellectually tamp down this desire for more of God by asserting, "He's already saved you and lives in your heart, isn't that enough?". Waiting on a special move of God is not saying that what He has already done in our lives through His Son Jesus Christ is not enough; rather, what it is saying is, I have tasted and seen that the LORD is good and He is SO GOOD that I JUST CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF HIM!!!!! Hallelujah!!!

Why wouldn't we be captured with the beauty of our Savior? Have you read the Psalms lately?? Hahaha I love David's passion for the LORD! As you know, recently I shared about a couple of important prophetic words given by Messianic Jewish Rabbi Felix Halpern regarding the Jewish New Year 5783 that began last Sunday evening (Thanks Laura!). We linked both parts 1 & 2 in the comments section below last week's message (9/25/22). Evergreen reached out with a comment to Rabbi Felix about his powerful words and he responded to us as a church! I cannot tell you what an encouragement AND confirmation his response to us was, but I will share it here: "Blessings I am standing in prayer and expectations for a breakout of the Spirit and a move of Heaven there. I say, each day you gather, stop, wait, expect, listen for His presence. Give room, time and space for Him."

This is exactly what we intend to do and continue to do as a community following Jesus together! Back in 2018, before we had moved to Tallahassee or even had this area anywhere on our radar, this is one of the things that the Lord had spoken to me to share at our first Evergreen meeting in our home in Nashville (11/04/18): Some important pieces of our vision at Evergreen will be *Preparing a Place for the Presence of the LORD *Revival *And Wholistic Community. Of course, you now see these words embedded in our value pairs, but let me tell you right now, preparing a place for the Presence of our LORD, that's tops, just absolutely the best thing we can do. When His Presence comes, He sets free, gives revelation, trains people in righteousness and makes things right. Spirit of God, be welcome in our hearts, in our midst, at Your Planting of Evergreen!!! Amen!
